How does the laser work?
The Laser kills the fungus that lives in and under the toenail. The laser light passes through the toenail without causing damage to the nail or the surrounding skin. At the time of the procedure, the toenail will not become instantly clear, it takes time to grow out.
What can I expect in the doctor's office?
A qualified physician will determine if you are a candidate for the procedure. A laser consultant will answer any questions you may have with regards to the procedure such as what to expect, scheduling, payment, etc.
Does it really work?
In the first clinical study, 60% - 70% of the treated patients grew out a normal looking nail after one treatment. After the one treatment, the nail plate should grow out normally in
6-12 months if there is a healthy nail bed. This result is exceptionally higher than any oral or topical medication presently on the market for which you take for three months with some risk of side effects.
Is this treatment safe?
There are no age or health restrictions or limitations. In clinical studies there have been no adverse reactions, injuries, disabilities or known side effects. As you may know, the use of oral medications such as LAMASIL for treatment of fungus toenails carries with it possible side effects.
What happens if toenail fungus remains untreated?
Toenail fungus may be contagious. Other than the unsightly appearance of the fungus, it may be transmitted to your healthy toenails, fingernails or individuals who share common areas with you. The toenail may become painful to the touch and prevent you from wearing certain shoe gear.
The procedure does not require injections/anesthesia and most people do not feel pain or discomfort from the laser. Some people feel a warming sensation and very few feel a pinprick from the laser.

No. The procedure is painless with no discomfort.
The foot laser procedure takes about 30 minutes.
You can apply nail polish immediately after the foot laser treatment. It is important to remove all nail polish and nail decorations the day before your treatment.
The toenail fungus is killed after one treatment and typically the doctor recommends care techniques to reduce the recurrence of the infection. There is a chance of re-infection because the fungus is present everywhere in the environment.

Does my insurance pay for this?
Because this treatment is considered aesthetic (cosmetic), health insurance plans do not cover this treatment. We accept cash, major credit cards, debit cards or you may use your Flexible Spending / Health Care Savings Account from your employer. We also offer interest-free financing through CareCredit.
How much does it cost?
Cost of the complete treatment is $795. The laser treatment is applied to all of the toenails on both feet, even the ones that appear uninfected. This reduces the chance of infecting the healthy nails. If the infection is resistant or has not responded with normal nail growth, the nails may need another laser treatment.

Leading scientists and medical professionals working together for 20 years with funding provided by the National Institutes of Health developed the technology in the Laser.
